We all make mistakes. This one just happened to last for a year-and-a-half. Better late than never, I suppose. Then again, punctuality never was my strong point.
If you’re reading this, chances are you know what happened recently. And have either seen me talking about it on TWITTER or the article on The Sword. If you’ve heard nothing or would just like the detailed version, take a seat and I’ll tell you. This past Thursday(6/7), I was fired from Next Door Studios. Now let’s take it back 2 weeks: last month when I was out shooting I was let in on some info about an orgy being planned that would include all of the ND exclusives, including the guys with sites. If you know anything about ND, you know that most of their exclusives are gay-for-pay. Not only are they gay-for-pay, but gay-for-pay with more restrictions than I care to even discuss (no kissing, no touching/sucking dick, no rimming, blah blah blah). Sounds lame, right? It is. I previously told Stephen (the president of this circus) and Paul Wagner (the production director/Stephan’s bitch) that I wouldn’t shoot with anyone that wouldn’t reciprocate GAY acts while shooting GAY porn … and it, I was told, wasn’t an issue. Or so I thought.
Knowing about said orgy I emailed Paul requesting to be left out of it for various reasons and asked if it would cause more “drama.” To which he replied, “Yes it would. It’s a requirement, and it’s what Stephan wants. There’s no way out of it.” [Fast forward, because after sending Paul an email explaining how IT'S JUST FUCKING PORN and that telling someone they have no choice to do something is a bigger joke than the douchebag he answers to, I heard nothing for a week.] Finally Stephan calls me and insists I have no choice but to shoot the orgy (WTF?), and that it’s in my contract (uh, no it’s not). Then he went on to threaten me by saying, and I quote, “You want to play dirty? I’ll bury your balls!” Now I’m not sure if that’s some French innuendo or if he thought he was talking to one of his twinks that he pays $200 to bareback or what, but that’s the point where I hung up.
Apparently they aren’t used to their models having any sort of integrity or self-respect (mainly because most of them don’t), but Anthony and I were marked as being “dramatic and problematic” over the past few months to a year due to us speaking our mind and not letting them treat us like puppets. So what this came down to was his sending me two emails. One stating that if I decided to come out and shoot my scheduled scenes, all would be good. Without any reply to that, I receive a second email roughly an hour later stating my termination. That second email was like I just had a cancerous tumor ripped from my body. It felt amazing. What’s even better is no more than an hour after being “terminated,” I got signed on with another studio. But stay tuned for details on that …
**Side note: Some people have made points that I knew what kind of studio ND was going into it. A year and a half ago the ones that WERE there had just started and it was slightly more acceptable. But a year or two later and they’re still afraid to touch a dick? Get over yourselves. Tell me how much sense saying “I’m heterosexual” and then willingly sticking your dick in a dude’s mouth makes. Shut the fuck up already and do your job. Nobody cares.
Throughout this whole thing, a lot of people have kept the focus on gay-for-pay in general. I honestly have no problem with straight performers in gay porn. But they’re just that, performers. Performers that actually do their job. Guys that come into an industry that IS gay sex and say they want to work but not have gay sex (gay sex isn’t just getting your average sized penis hard and sticking it in a hole) are a fucking joke. Having abs and a chest is cool, but that doesn’t cover up the fact that your performers are less entertaining than Kristin Stewart in….well, everything she’s done. But I suppose hiring a team of editors to turn most scenes into a bad Nickelodeon cartoon is a good way of distracting away from those mediocre performances.
I’ve attempted to keep this post as far away from a “bashing” post as possible. Sometimes the truth is pretty harsh though, but TO FIRE one of your best gay (and one of your few gay) performers because he has enough self-respect not to want to be thrown in a pit with a bunch guys whose best talent is just standing there? I mean, come on. So to Stephan Sirard and the management at Next Door Studios, FUCK YOU and from the bottom of my heart, thank you for letting me go from that tool shed.
As I wrap this up and close/burn this chapter of my career, I want to thank everyone for the prodigious amount of support and love. It was seriously the icing on the cake. Now, I’m not telling you to cancel anything, but at least now you know the shit you’re supporting if you still have a membership over there. But that’s on you.
Over the next few months, Anthony and I will be working on, filming content for, and launching our new studio- GUYSINSWEATPANTS.COM. Let’s just say, if you plan on shooting for us and/or watching the content, prepare to be blown away by guys actually enjoying what they’re doing. Crazy concept, I know! We’ve talked a little about it on twitter, but my next post will cover it more in depth.
You guys rock!
